Why Self-Care Actually Leads to Abundance

Did you know that a dedicated practice of self-care can actually lead to more abundance?

abundance - jianiteo websiteApproximately 10 years ago (before I even knew about the Law of Attraction, manifestation, and abundance), I suffered from a very unhealthy habit known as “self-sacrifice”.

I was good at “giving to others” but not so good at “receiving for myself”.

As a result, I was stressed-out, burnt-out and energetically depleted more often than not.

AND, because I wasn’t consistently taking care of myself, I wasn’t able to foster, build, and grow the energy I needed to attract what I wanted with ease.

As I started to learn about the various energetic laws of the Universe, I realized that by NOT taking care of myself I was inadvertently blocking abundance from coming into my life!

Did you know that there are actually spiritual laws of the universe that aid us ALL in manifesting and attracting what we desire?

AND, did you know that the practice of self-care can greatly enhance this ability?

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about these energetic & spiritual laws and found that there are 3 main components of abundance that must be considered for a person to manifest with more ease and grace.

To help you learn how self-care can actually lead to abundance I’d like to share with you these 3 main components of abundance that I’ve learned, which are as follows:

  1. Your ability to receive. This represents your willingness to receive abundance with gratitude and grace (instead of resistance and unworthiness). With this ability in place you are energetically telling the Universe that you are “worthy” of abundance instead of resisting it’s efforts to bring you what you desire. For example, if someone gave you a compliment, a gift, or a monetary offering would you accept with gratitude and grace? Or would you feel resistant to accepting that gift because you’re worried that the other person wants something in return. Or concern that the compliment, gift, or offering they are giving you is “too much”?
  2. Your ability to build & sustain. This represents your ability to foster, build, and grow any abundance that comes your way. Without this level of self-discipline in place you are energetically telling the Universe that you only want abundance if it’s “easy”. Although manifesting and attracting CAN be easy, it often requires at least some amount of dedication, desire, and effort on your part to for the Universe to know that you are not taking your abundance lightly. For example, are you squandering the abundance (whether it be time, energy, or money) you attract thoughtlessly? Or do you have a schedule, a budget, an investment plan, or a practice of self-care & discipline that helps you build and sustain any abundance you’ve received?
  3. Your ability to reciprocate. This represents your ability to reciprocate and give back others in some way. It also represents your willingness to give back to yourself! It’s important to note that this does NOT need to be immediate reciprocation upon receiving abundance, but rather something that allows you “to pay forward” the abundance you’ve received at a future date and time to a future recipient. This gift could be in the form of time, energy, or money and because the Universe abhors a void, this willingness to pay it forwrad can make you more magnetic to future forms of abundance that come your way.

When we practice all 3 of these components regularly in our life (as it relates to our time, our energy, or our money) it becomes much easier for us to manifest and attract what we desire!

So, why does self-care actually lead to abundance?

First, a self-care practice meets all 3 of the components related to abundance so that you can manifest with more ease and grace!! Here’s why:

  • Self-care represents your willingness to receive your own self-love, health & harmony into your life.
  • Self-care can be a daily/weekly/monthly practice of self-discipline that represents your willingness to foster, build, & grow that self-love, health & harmony.
  • Self-care is the ultimate gift you can give to yourself because it represents your willingness to reciprocate and give back to yourself.

With all of the above in place, not only will you feel great about yourself, your health, AND your life but you will also be activating the Law of Attraction with a much higher vibration and frequency in place!

Which of course, is what leads to our ability to manifest and attract with EASE. ๐Ÿ™‚

Second, self-care is nurturing and “feminine” in nature, which is greatly needed to balance all of the “masculine” energy (“doing”, taking action, prioritizing,ย  etc..) we as humans need to employ in order to meet our daily tasks, priorities, and obligations.

With women especially, operating in our masculine energy all the time can be highly draining and exhausting. A regular self-care practice offsets all the energy we’re putting out and refuels our body, mind, & spirit, allowing us to be more feminine in nature AND even more effective when we do need to be in our masculine energy!

AND, this feminine energy is what allows to just “be” in the moment more easily, helps us go with the flow, has an energy of “allowing” (vs. forcing), and it encourages creativity which are ALL huge components to attracting abundance with more ease!

Third, self-care = self-love, which is considered to be the highest frequency and emotional experience available to us as humans.

In fact, love also vibrates at the same frequency as gratitude which ties in to our ability to “receive” more readily the gifts that each life experience brings.

Not only that, but self-love has the ability to heal old emotional wounds, allows us to have more compassion and patience others, and is ultimately what will result in a change in our external world.

WHY? Because your external world is always a reflection for what’s going on inside. Remember, according to the Law of Attraction, “like attracts like”. ๐Ÿ™‚

To see if self-care actually can lead to more abundance for YOU (whether it be more self-love, prosperity, health, happiness, joy, etc…!), consider implementing the following:

  • Pay attention to your willingness to 1) receive, 2) build/foster/grow, and 3) reciprocate in ALL areas of your life for a period of 1-2 weeks. If you find that one of the 3 components is regularly NOT in place, create and implement a simple self-care ritual that will foster/build/grow that missing area for a month and see what changes.
  • Notice how much time you spend in both “masculine” and “feminine” energy mode to see if there’s an imbalance. Free up some time in your schedule so that you can incorporate more “feminine” energy activities (i.e. these would be activities that energize, inspire, delight, empower, or allow you to be more creative!) to balance out all the “masculine” activities that you engage in.
  • On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being extraordinary), rate how much you LOVE yourself. If it’s less than a 10, determine the #1, simplest thing you could do to create change in that area & turn it into a self-care practice for ONE month.

At the end of one month, notice any new forms of abundance that arise in your life as a result of these changes! ๐Ÿ™‚

If you’re diligent with these recommendations, you’ll likely notice a difference in how you’re feeling AND how you’re attracting.

Imagine… how much easier would it be to manifest, attract, and create what you desire if you truly loved your self, your health, & your life?!

Self-care is the answer. ๐Ÿ™‚

How to Re-Ignite & LIGHT Up Your Life!

Ignite Your PassionDo you feel stuck, like you are drifting through life without direction?

Do you wonder what it would be like to love yourself more completely without judgment, shame, or regret?

Would you like to take better care of your health and your life?!

If youโ€™re like me (i.e. human), thereโ€™s always room for improvement in your life. This is not because youโ€™re a bad person or just canโ€™t get it right, but because the very nature of human existence is change and evolution.

Ironically, change is something we tend to resist for many reasons – fear, safety, security,lack of self-esteem, etc…

That being said, change is also the thing (when embraced) that could re-ignite and LIGHT up our lives!

So, if you answered yes to even ONE of the questions above, Iโ€™m curious…

What would it take for you to step outside your comfort zone? To change what’s not working? To truly love your SELF, your HEALTH, or your LIFE?!

To help you figure this out, Iโ€™d like to offer up some personal recommendations that I have found very helpful for re-igniting & LIGHT-ing up my own life when needed.

My recommendation is an 8-step process that works as follows:

  1. Determine where you are NOW. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being extraordinary), measure your satisfaction in each of the following areas:
    • SELF (representing your mindset, your opinion of yourself as a person, your mental or spiritual health)
    • HEALTH (representing your satisfaction with your physical, emotional, or financial health)
    • LIFE (representing your satisfaction in life as it relates to your hobbies, your passions, your purpose, or your creativity)
  2. Determine what’s missing. In each of the 3 areas, write down what’s missing. This represents what you really desire!
  3. Determine what’s possible. For everything that’s missing or that you desire, write down all the possible ways you might bring that thing into fruition.
  4. Set intentions. For each area, choose the ONE new action you could take or ritual you could implement that would make the biggest difference in each area. TIP: Choose actions and rituals that are believe-able (to yourself), realistic, and enjoyable. The higher your belief that you can accomplish this action or ritual and the more enjoyable it is, the more likely you are to succeed!
  5. Create an agreement. Make a commitment to yourself to implement the action or ritual you have chosen. Create time in your schedule and schedule it! Make it a priority to create change in your life and set the intention to embrace the journey along the way. Outline what you will do if you get off track and imagine how good it will feel once your goal is accomplished!
  6. Assess your progress. As you work and play toward your goal, assess your progress by checking in regularly to ask yourself questions that will help you transform setbacks into success. What works? What doesn’t work? What can you do differently as you move forward or when you make mistakes?
  7. Be patient. Accomplishments rarely occur overnight. Be prepared to course-correct when you fall off the wagon or make mistakes along the way. This is a normal part of the process and there are many lessons, gifts, and wisdom that can be gained from these setbacks! Use these lessons and this wisdom to help you get back on track.
  8. Celebrate your successes. Along the way, celebrate the small wins and successes you have. When you accomplish your final goal, celebrate the end result! Reward yourself for a job well-done. Honor yourself with self-talk and self-motivation that’s kind and loving in nature!

The 7 Fears That Sabotage Your Life

Do YOU ever struggle with panic or fear?

I’m not talking about the kind of fear that kicks in when your life is in danger but rather, the kind of fear that comes from your thoughts, your beliefs, and the conditioning you’ve received over the years?

I know I have!

PANICSadly, I was oblivious to this fact for the first 35 years of life and I unintentionally let fear drive many of actions, words, and thoughts. In fact, I believe it played a part in the chronic pain I experienced for well over 10 years!

Several years ago, as part of my Journey accreditation program,ย  I attended a week-long, silent, healing retreat to identify and release the ego fixations that held me back. It was there that I clearly realized for the first time ever that my biggest ego fixation was fear around safety and security.

Once I learned this about myself, it WOKE me up!

For the first time, I saw clearly how this pattern had been showing up and running (and ruining) most of my life in the form of anxiety, doubt, worry, and second-guessing of anything that might affect my safety and security.

This revelation was enlightening AND at the same time, terrifying.

Why? Because I realized in that moment that it was MY dis-empowering thoughts, beliefs, and conditioning that had been dictating my emotional reactions (AND my reality) for so long!

In a flash I realized I could no longer play the victim card and blame others for my unhappiness. In order to transform that fear, I had to take control of my life and make a commitment to my personal growth and evolution.

As a result of that commitment, I’ve learned a lot about fear!

Since that unconscious time in my life, I’ve learned the various types of fear AND I’ve learned how to to embrace, learn from, and be-friend my own fears.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

And although I still have moments where anxiety, doubt, worry, and second-guessing come up, I can now more easily recognize & release those fears. I’ve also become more skilled and adept at transforming fear into an empowering reaction and feelings of trust, faith, courage, and security.

So what are the fears that hold YOU back? ๐Ÿ™‚

One of my favorite authors, Napoleon Hill, believed that the 7 basic fears in life are as follows:

  1. Fear of poverty
  2. Fear of criticism (or rejection)
  3. Fear of ill health
  4. Fear of loss of love (or abandonment)
  5. Fear of the loss of liberty (or freedom)
  6. Fear of old age
  7. Fear of death

So how can awareness of these fears be of benefit to YOU personally?

Well, let’s find out!

For each of the above fears, do the following:

  1. Write down all the life scenarios where this fear played itself out for you.
  2. Review the scenarios and answer the following question… what has this fear COST you?
  3. Review the scenarios again and answer the following question… what are the benefits you’ll receive if you could release your attachment to this fear?

My guess is that your answers to the above questions will enlighten you! Not only that but they’ll provide you with awareness of what you want AND don’t want so that you have a clearer vision of where you’re going and what’s stopping you.

So, whenever these fears arise going forward, simply put in place the following:

  1. Identify what’s driving the fear.
  2. Briefly feel & experience the fear fully.
  3. Re-direct & focus your attention on the benefits of what you REALLY desire.
  4. Take ONE small action or step toward what you REALLY desire until it shifts your energy & lifts your spirits.

With enough practice and persistence, it will become easier over time to release the fear itself and re-focus your attention to what you REALLY desire! It could even help you handle other dis-empowering emotions with more ease and grace. ๐Ÿ™‚
